Osaka Night Views:
Observation Deck Hours and a Drink After

When do Osaka's observation decks close? Going by the official information as of 1 November 2026, the Umeda Sky Building's Floating Garden Observatory takes its last entry at 22:00, HARUKAS 300 at Abeno Harukas at 21:30, and the Tsutenkaku general observatory at 21:15. In November the sun sets around 17:00 in Osaka, so the city is already dark by early evening and there is plenty of time to go up after sunset. Get in before the last entry, come down, and you can be in Higashi-Shinsaibashi for a drink from 21:00.

I am Korean and run three Korean bars in Higashi-Shinsaibashi, Osaka. This page is about timing: when to go up, when to come down, and how to get across to Shinsaibashi afterwards.

  • Umeda Sky Building: on Sunday 8 November 2026 the observatory closes early for a facility inspection, open 9:30–19:00 with last entry at 18:30. There are also special opening days, so look at the official calendar for your date.
  • HARUKAS 300: Abeno Harukas connects directly to Kintetsu Osaka-Abenobashi Station and to JR and Osaka Metro Tennoji Station. The ticket counter is on the 16th floor, and you ride a shuttle elevator up to it.
  • Tsutenkaku: entry works on timed reservations, which means you choose an entry time when you buy your ticket. The official site notes that slots from the evening onwards can sell out, so book ahead if you have a time in mind. Changes to opening hours and temporary closures are announced on Tsutenkaku's official X account.

Sunset in Osaka in November

Sunset times for Osaka from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. The sun goes down a little earlier as the month moves towards its end.

DateSunset (Osaka)
1 November17:05
8 November16:59
15 November16:54
22 November16:50
30 November16:47

With sunset before 17:00 for most of the month, a deck visit after dark no longer has to push dinner late. You can see the lights, eat, and still have the rest of the night ahead.

Two ways to plan the evening

These are sample shapes for a night, not fixed schedules. Leave yourself some slack at each step, and keep the last-entry time as the one thing you do not miss.

Plan A: go up early, eat, then a drink at 21:00

  1. Head up soon after sunset. Pick a deck and go up once it is dark, in the early part of the evening.
  2. Come down and have dinner. Eat near the deck or somewhere on your way south.
  3. Ride the Midosuji Line to Shinsaibashi. From Umeda or Tennoji the line runs straight through to Shinsaibashi Station.
  4. Walk to Higashi-Shinsaibashi for 21:00. That is when our three bars open.

Plan B: dinner first, a later deck, then straight to a drink

  1. Start with dinner. Finish your meal in the early evening.
  2. Go up later in the night. Aim to be through the entrance well before the last entry: 21:30 at HARUKAS 300, 22:00 at the Umeda Sky Building.
  3. Come down and take the Midosuji Line. Go to Shinsaibashi Station and walk over to Higashi-Shinsaibashi.
  4. Go straight in for a drink. The bars are open until 05:00, so arriving after 21:00 is no problem.

For Tsutenkaku, book your timed entry first and build the rest of the evening around that slot.

Getting from the decks to Shinsaibashi

  • From Umeda (Umeda Sky Building): take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line from Umeda to Shinsaibashi without changing trains.
  • From Tennoji (HARUKAS 300): the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line also runs from Tennoji to Shinsaibashi with no change.
  • From Shinsekai (Tsutenkaku): the nearest stations are Ebisucho on the Sakaisuji Line and Dobutsuen-mae on the Midosuji and Sakaisuji Lines. Dobutsuen-mae is on the same Midosuji Line that stops at Shinsaibashi.
  • The last stretch on foot: Higashi-Shinsaibashi is within walking distance of both Shinsaibashi Station and Namba Station.

After the view: our bars in Higashi-Shinsaibashi

The evening we have in mind is simple: the city lights first, then a drink with us in Higashi-Shinsaibashi from 21:00. All three bars are on upper floors of buildings in Higashi-Shinsaibashi 2-chome, a short walk from one another, and you can reach them on foot from Shinsaibashi Station and from Namba Station. Each has Korean staff, K-POP playing, and Korean drinks: soju, makgeolli and somaek.

We do not serve food, so plan dinner before or after the deck and come to us once you have eaten. We are open every day of the year, 21:00 to 05:00, and walking in without a reservation is fine; to book or ask something first, call or send an Instagram DM. We take credit cards and cash. Guests must be 20 or older, and please do not drive after drinking. On Google Maps each bar holds a 4.9 rating: HEAVEN across 2,844 reviews, SARANG across 678 and 韓国バーMOON across 380, according to the September 2026 figures.
