Osaka Summer Nightlife:
Korean Bars Open Till 5 AM, Even During Obon

Wondering where to spend your summer nights in Osaka? HEAVEN, MOON and SARANG are three Korean bars in Higashi-Shinsaibashi — a short walk from Dotonbori and Namba — open every single night from 9 PM to 5 AM, all year round. No reservation needed: just walk in, cool off, and enjoy K-pop, Korean drinks and easy conversation.

Escape the Osaka Summer Heat — the Night Is Air-Conditioned

Osaka summers are hot and humid, and August nights stay warm well past midnight. After a day of sightseeing in Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi or Kuromon Market, the smart move is to take the night indoors. At a Korean bar you can sip Korean soju or makgeolli in a cool room with K-pop playing, and stay as long as you like — all three bars are open until 5 in the morning.

All three are in the Higashi-Shinsaibashi nightlife district, within walking distance of Shinsaibashi and Namba stations. If your hotel is in the Namba area, you can simply walk home whenever you're done.

Open During Obon Week (August 13–16) and All Summer

Many restaurants and bars in Japan close during the Obon holiday in mid-August. HEAVEN, MOON and SARANG stay open 365 nights a year — no closing days, no reservation required. If you find yourself in Osaka during Obon wondering what's actually open at night, the answer is here.

  • Every night 9 PM – 5 AM, including national holidays and Obon
  • No reservation needed — walk-ins welcome (phone or Instagram DM reservations also possible)
  • English OK — the staff are Korean, fluent in Japanese, and speak English too

A Place Where Japan and Korea Meet

These bars are where "Japanese who love Korea and Koreans who love Japan" naturally gather. In August, the Korean Liberation Day holiday (August 15) brings extra Korean travelers to Osaka, so the mix of Japanese regulars, Korean visitors and international guests is at its liveliest. If you want to experience local nightlife and make friends across cultures — not just drink at a tourist bar — this is the spot.

Pick Your Bar by Mood

The three bars are a few minutes' walk from each other, so bar-hopping between them is easy.
